Bio
Liz Bruno is the Head of School at a small boarding school in rural New Hampshire.
A graduate of George Fox University, Yale Divinity School, and the University of Oregon, she works in education and care ethics. Liz publishes in both poetry and non-fiction. Liz was the 2009 Davis Demitasse Poetry Contest winner and the recipient of a 2017 Peter Hixson poetry award. She was awarded a Neilson Grant from Yale School of Forestry for her research in environmental theology and a Jane Campbell Krohn Award in Literature and the Environment from UO.
Liz has worked in a variety of schools, churches, and non-profit organizations that specialize in caring for and including non-traditional populations. Areas of previous work include supporting trauma survivors, students who are not nuero-typical, multiple language learners, immigrants, and other groups. Liz has also worked in teacher training, particularly addressing teacher burn-out, poor support networks, and inclusive classroom practices.
